Hi,
I have an SEO idea that I would like to run past everyone.
I have a around 10 clients who sell in the B2B market (mostly services like solictors, accountants, surveyors etc).

My plan is to create good quality relevant back links to their sites I was planning to do this as follows:-

1. Create a community B2B website (with industry news, blogs, events etc) with lots of very high quality, large volume of Business content
2. I would then link my clients websites to the content/blog and attribute authorship to them

Do you think this will create much Back link value?
Do you think the work involved with producing the Business content will be worth it?

You are basically building a private network.

    That will work fine.

I wouldn't limit it to just one site though. I build local sites like this in areas where I have more than one client (or one really big client), and also sites that can be used for clients across the nation.

On the social media side, I do something similar on Facebook in communities where I have more than one client. I'll build some sort of community related page, get a bunch of followers, and then sprinkle in mentions of my clients now and then without getting spammy.

Yes as said that works fine.. but it definitely involves lot of work in terms of content and website management. Still your clients will get backlinks from only one site. Instead you can work hard in getting links from content marketing for your clients.
