Fellow warriors,

I hear some people make links in wordpress themes no follow backlinks.

Please can someone explain how and what that means in a laymans terms for me?

I'm getting there though I still need to learn lots and lots of information.

Thanks and best wishes to all

Pete

If you have links on your blog leading off to other sites, then the search engine spiders will pick up on them and follow. In Wordpress you can still have the links but by enabling the 'no follow', the spiders won't then follow the link.

When I first started my blog I had a shed load of links to other blogs, but I heard that Google looks on this kind of thing as a link farm and may penalize you for it.

In order to activate 'no follow' log in to your wordpress dashboard. On the left hand side you'll see 'links' with a drop down box. At the bottom you'll see NoFollow Links. Click on that and your link list will appear with check boxes on the right. Check the boxes of the links that you don't want spiders to follow.

    Hope this helps
