Ranking on Google's First Page...

I am in the process of creating a niche website/authority site. However, anytime I google my keyword, local results come up (for instance if I googled "boxing classes" local gyms and boxing classes would come up). How can I rank on the number one spot for any term if there are always organic results that appear for someone's location?

You need to target keywords which can't be related to geographical locations. Terms such as "boxing classes" are too generic and you need to dig deeper and find longtail keywords which can't trigger a local search or change your keyword alltogether.

When I Google "boxing drills" I don't get any location-specific search results and only see information-based ones. Even then, "boxing drills" may be too competitive for you and you will need to find a longtail keyword for that term that is easier to rank for.

You also need to avoid keywords which trigger certain results such as:

Results with Google's Knowledge Graph (typing in Thomas Jefferson will show information about him on the side)
Results with featured snippets (e.g., how to tie a tie shows a snippet with these directions)
Results with authority sites that are targeting your exact keyword (though there are exceptions)
Results with Google's “In The News” feature, unless you have a news site.
Results with local results at the top of SERPs, unless you have a local business and you plan on ranking in the local 3 pack.
Results with more than 1 of the above.

Are you searching for those keywords in the normal browser in which you do all the stuffs if yes they those results will be little odd.
I would suggest you to use an incognito browser and if you are looking to check results for US then hit google.com/ncr and then search for those keywords.
Or you can use some keyword research tools like kwfinder or ferzy.com to check the serp results.
After that prepare a plan to rank above them.
