Wanted to know Does Duplicate Meta Tags effects sites ranking or not. Presently my site has lots of duplicate description tags.....!!!!

    Yes, duplicate meta tags affect website ranking. Becuase it will comes under content duplicacy which Google totally deny. According to the algorithm also use unique content for evey page of website.

    Duplicate meta tags will not affect rankings directly, but the click through rate will suffer due to ignored site pages. The target visitor will not attempt to click your site because of redundant descriptions.

    YES, Duplicate Meta Tags effects sites ranking. if your site has duplicate meta tags your site may hit with google updates. so try to maintain unique meta tags and content.

    It is not a good SEO practice that you have duplicate Meta description for the different page.
    Duplicate meta description indicates that your site has more than same page and content inside your site.
    Google can penalize your site and not indexed the site.

    So define the Meta description for each page unique, concise and puts your keywords properly.
    Because it is effective to get traffic and rank in Search Engine Result Page.

    Thanks everyone !!!!!!!! I disallow that particular pages which have duplicate tags ...........in robots...but How long google take to completely remove those pages from serp... Any idea...
