Why your Instagram engagement is dropping like a hot brick.
- SEO |
I guarantee that you're guilty of one of the following:
You've made your Instagram account private.
Check your settings as perhaps you've inadvertently switched your profile to private. Instagram isn't like Facebook where people can comment on your post and their followers will see it. Private means just that, private!
You're posting too often.
Post at least once a day, more so depending on your following but it you're pumping out post after post in a row, it doesn't matter how good your content is you're still going to annoy people causing them to unfollow.
You're not posting often enough.
High-maintenance bunch these Instagrammers! If you don't post often enough you'll be the victim of their next cull, be warned!
You've stopped using hashtags.
Hashtags are so important so that everyone can find you. If you've changed the hashtags perhaps there not as popular or if you've stopped putting them in completely, that's why your posts aren't as popular any more.
You don't have a profile picture.
If there's a blank space where your picture or logo should be you lose credibility and people are unwilling to spend any time on your page. Add a picture to let everyone know that there's someone sitting behind the app, it'll go a long way to improve your engagement.
You're not interacting with other users.
Your content can be the best in the business but if you're not interacting with other users in your niche and responding to comments and likes, then you'll struggle to gain followers. Instagram is a bit like being in a playground and its really important that you take the time to reply to people and make an effort to have a conversation with them.
You're not using video.
People want to see a mixture of content and Instagram now allow you to upload videos to your page. Start to add a few video posts and watch your engagement skyrocket.
You can see that getting your content spot on is great but its not the ONLY thing to consider when using Instagram. Make sure you're giving your followers what they want in more ways than one!
