Relevant Blog and Forum Finding Strategy, Help me!

Please advice me how to get relevant blogs and forums, I found some search string for google from different blog, but not working so much.
Secondly please also tell me how to check the quality of these blogs and forums.

    You can use a search string like: inurl:blog + your keyword , inurl:forum + your keyword, suppose you are finding blogs on seo then you can search for: inurl:blog + seo.

    For blogs you can check for its quality by checking its domain authority and alexa rank, also check for its recent posts dates, you will get idea about how frequently the blog is updated.

    For forums check the number of online users and the maximum users which were online on any day, and the dates of the posts.

    Here's one way that I've found where you can get relative blog

    1) Go to google
    2) Type this in the search box:
    site:.edu [YOUR KEYWORD] blog

    For example, if your keyword is cars, you'll type:
    site:.edu cars blog
