How to improve image rankings

It seems like everyone is content to Optimize their images and let them fall where they may on google image search. And I can understand why it isn't the average person's focus, however I am a photographer and one of the main ways people find there photographers is from Google image search.

Are there any tactics besides properly optimizing the images to help them reach the top of an image search?

Any and all input is appreciated.

      - The caption for image include keyword
      - Increase the keyword density around the image on your post
      - Your image should be a big-size one but not too large for loading.
I think too and title image tag should include keyword or description about the picture.

None of the above ideas matter when you build followed backlinks with keyword anchor-text pointing directly at the image URL.

Next you'll need to break the Google Image frame.

When you click on an image in Google Images it will be inside a frame, it won't allow traffic to go directly to your webpage. The frame needs to be broken otherwise it takes extra steps for traffic to navigate outside of Google Images.

There's two niches that are pros at breaking Google Image frames, porn sites and wallpaper sites. Look at the HTML source code for those types of searches and you should be able to reverse engineer how they're breaking the Google Image frame.

Make an affiliate program for your website
Do viral marketing by producing something with your sites link attached. I can also add that hosting stability plays an important part for image rankings. I use hostwinds and everything works good. My image site is always online and receives much traffic.

just put in your meta tags there... you know when you upload your photo, you can write a title, alternative text, and description. Put in your important keywords there. if you have a photoblog, promote it in all social media sites - facebook, twitter, pinterest, flickr, and etc.

What i understand, when it comes to ranking, that means backlinking. One backlink means one vote. Just promote the main page of your photos in any sites you can find... those sites that allows you to link to your photo.

Here are some good ways you can do:
    1. Alt text: To include it, you simply add alt="this is your alt text" to your image tag.
    2. File size: always use an image editing program to make your image a desired size, and upload that.
    3. File name: Before you upload your image, pick a descriptive filename—preferably a file name you want that image to rank for—because it will help with your search engine rankings.
    4. Captions: Next to your headline, image captions are important because they are one of the most well-read pieces of content on your entire site.
