Hi All,

Anyone have any experience of pointing irrelevant backlinks at relative domains in Tier 1? Does it work or do you get penalized?

Thanks,
Seamy

What do you mean by irrelevant backlinks?

Tier Linking definitely works but I would suggest using some type of relevancy. For Example If I have a plumbing Website lets just call it myplumbingpros.com and I have a tier 1 link from a wordpress blog post Titled How to fix a leaky pipe I would can create a tier 2 link pointing to this wordpress blog post to send some link juice over to the main money website myplumbingpros.com.

I have tested out different approaches and honestly there is alot you can get away with but I would suggest using a piece of relevant content and keywords when your pointing in towards your tiers it will only juice it up more and be more protected in the long run. I have ranked just by correctly stacking tiers in a specific way and also depending on the keyword competiveness.

Say if I had a tier 1 domain that was all about plumbing but I buy an expired domain about pet shampoo and put plumbing content on it and a link to my tier 1 website but all the links pointing to the pet shampoo website are about pet shampoo. Will this boost my rankings for my money site.

    It works just fine.

It is basically what people have been doing for years when they purchase domains and re-purpose them for private network sites.
