About missing inner page from Google

Hi all,

I am pretty newbie here, I hope I do not make any mistake in posting this here.

I need help with my website.
There are some inner pages in my website that is not displayed in Google when searching using the specific keyword. However, if I search the keyword and adding "site:<mysiteurl>" it is shown.

One of the pages was searchable in Google, but now it is not.

Does Google punish that inner page for certain reason?
Is there something that I can do to make the inner page searchable again in Google?
Can you please advise me on what is going on here?

Thank you

Kind regard,
Ron

Odds are you just need to do SEO.

Use a keyword rank checker (free) to see If the page/s are buried in the SERPs for your target keywords.

For this particular browser plugin rank checker go slow, about one keyword checked per 45 seconds since it doesn't use proxies, otherwise Google will temporarly block your IP and it will look like the keyword isn't showing up anywhere on the SERPs.

Also use a domain URL like apple.com instead of http://apple.com.

      Hi Yukon,

Thanks for the reply. That is handy software to check the keyword rank.

I am sure my keyword is not buried as the keyword is not unique.
My website is about a game database (I am not sure if I am allowed to put my link here, so I hyperlink the text instead)

As for the keyword, an example of that is: Sandcastle Shard Trap
My site that describes that item was displayed on the first page of Google, but now it is gone. I have tried submitting the index and sitemap, but still no avail.

This is just one keyword, there are still hundreds of "missing" keywords. I am confused.

      Please advise

      Thank you

      Kind regard,
      Ron

Glancing at your site: search shows you're not really targeting the example keyword.

        Google search:
        • "sandcastle shard trap" site:mousehunt.dbgames.info

Why are you using sub-domains (mousehunt.dbgames.info) and why is the root domain not active?

Yes, I do not target the example keyword for my site as I want each inner page to get indexed by Google. Some of the inner pages are still indexed and has strong placement in Google.

About the subdomain, I plan to add other section later, to be gameA.dbgames.info, gameB.dbgames.info and things like that. Root domain will be activated later.

Is using the subdomain not recommended for SEO?
I thought there is no difference.

Should I get a domain and redirect my current one to root domain one?

Subdomains are treated as completely different websites by Google. You are far better off putting things in directories (folders) of your main domain name. That way, the cumulative authority of each page is passed through the main domain, helping all pages rank better.

      Thanks for the reply Dave.
In regards to the authority, how great does the cumulative authority affect the SEO?

My mind is a bit jumbled now thinking about the best structure for SEO.

My goal is, for example, for players to Google a monster name of the game and find the url of the monster page of my website

judging from both of your response (Dave and Yukon), it seems subdomain is not recommended for my case.

Thus, I have 2 remaining options now:

      1.
      domain/subA
      domain/subB
      domain/subC

so that the authority goes to domain.com
But subA, subB, subC each has different game, although the main topic is still gaming.

      2.

      subAdomain/
      subBdomain/
      subCdomain/

the cumulative authority is no more since there are 3 different domains

which one is better between these 2? and why?

Sorry for asking silly questions, but I am really confused and not sure which to choose right now.

#1 is better because it is all part of the website. In very simple, non-technical terms, if backlinks are directed to one of the pages, that page gains a little more authority and because that page is within the main domain, the main domain benefits. When the main domain has more authority, the individual pages gain a little strength. So, when one page gains authority, every page gains a tiny fraction of that authority because some of it flows through to the main domain and then is divided amongst the many pages. It doesn't work exactly like that but that is about as simple as I can try to explain it, at least as far as what a lot of the SEO community believes. None of us is privy to the real inner workings of Google, so keep that in mind.

What we DO know is that subdomains are treated as completely different websites. No authority flows from one subdomain to another. This is why many people built a separate subdomain site on their main domain when they got hammered by the early Penguin penalties. The subdomain pages were unaffected by the penalties on the main domain.

      Thanks for the guidance, Dave.

I will setup a redirect from the subdomain to subfolder then.
It seems like a hard work, but I am actually excited since there is a room to grow for my sites.
