Something is happening here, but you dont know what it is, do you, Mr. Jones (Bob Dylan)
A whole era gone. Destroyed.

Google Keyword Tool has erased years worth of SEO articles, forum posts, guides, products, software, podcasts, youtube videos. slide shows etc.

The people who coming after the period of Google Keyword Tool will have a much harder time.

The train for SEO has just left the station.

The need for SEO is about to explode. Loads of money to be made now.

Brands that rule the internet now will continue to grow at a rate you cannot even believe.

The data is still on the Keyword Planner. Google was smart to filter out freeloaders, they've been bleeding out money for years.

There's still alternatives for generating keywords.

All you have to do is search the root keyword on the SERPs and reverse engineer the competition. They'll usually tell you the keywords they target (page titles, anchor-text, etc...). Knowing the niche helps.

Search volume on the Keyword Planner was never spot on so that's not important.

Awesome tip. Reverse engineering the competition is great, especially on youtube. Takes a bit of time but well worth it when researching keywords.

I just feel bad for the miles of content that will confuse a great deal of people. Its been confusing for most people even without the update.

How exactly do you do this, Yukon? Do you go to Google and type site:domain (<--competitor's domain) inanchor:keyword intitle:keyword inurl:keyword

Is that how you reverse engineer your competition?

Search Engine Optimization isn't dead simply because Google changed who can and can not use the Adwords tool. And their decisions makes sense.

Google runs on ad dollars, not "let me find thousands of keywords free". There are keyword tools for that, and quite a few are free.

Adwords is a revenue stream for Google and most business owners know this. I expect Bing to follow suit.

I agree.. I agree to make Meta Keywords obsolete, because you could write any words you wanted and did not care much where these keywords relevant to site or not.. But all the other tools cannot be ignored and just swept away..

  • I agree but there is still a tiny amount of life left in SEO. IMO the old ways of seo no longer work for example
    Directory Submission
    Social Bookmarking
Document Submission like PPT, PDF, Image, AV, etc
Article Submission to low pr site (duplication)

What activities do work are guest blogging on high pr sites, article submission on articlebase and similar high pr sites that too not more than 3 times.
I have found that the traffic from social sites contributes more to my website than the regular seo. So yes, SEO is DEAD but not completely.

That's because the methods you've listed are/were spam methods and were never real seo.

We can't say SEO is dead. The results of traffic and lead generation are mainly cause of the powerful On-Page and Off-Page SEO techniques. Google is smarter than our thinking! As it is keep changing the algorithm, which also affects for Keyword planner tool mean, Google works strategical in that tool also.

You're telling it is dead because you can't find a way to rank your site anymore which means you're skill is dead not SEO.

The big problem of these self-proclaimed SEOs they are so attached with what they've learned from a forum/blog and never ever tried to upgrade themselves to a higher level thus comes a tweak in Google's algorithm that they know nothing about will go to forums or write an article and say SEO is Dead.

Do yourself a favor. Go find a new career!

A lot of fear based responses and non English readers.

Like i said, there is a lot of money to be made right now. The New comers will have a harder time because most of the content currently out for SEO help is based off of post google keyword tool update.

The most profitable way to do keyword research is to pony up some cash and spend money on Adwords. Find out what converts well then target it on your organic efforts. I miss the old Traffic Travis app though!

I think you are confusing keyword research and SEO.

Yes, Google has made it harder to mine for keyword data but as others on this thread have pointed out, there are other free and paid tools that will provide all the Keyword data you need.

SEO is dead for those people who doesn't even know how SEO really works.
Google keyword planner is only a guide but not as a basis because there are other mediums out there that really gives you the most effective keyword to target for.

Im glad you know how to SEO. But what you should learn is how to use a forum. 5 posts, joined in 2016, and spamming backlinks is the best way to get known on one of the bigger SEO forums .

      Edit: Learn to market.

You have your Instagram on the sidebar. 0 followers. Instantly lose credibility with a lot of people. Take it off til you get some followers. It isn't helping you any but its hurting you more than you think.
