SERP is playing hid-and-go-seek of Google

So, my webpage shows up on page 5 of Google for my target keyword during the day and disappears completely from Google at night. I check using Rank Checker and I also double check using Google without being logged in. Is it because there are no backlinks pointing to this webpage yet because it's only a month and a half old?

    With "SEO" in your username, should you really be asking questions like this? But just because.. My theory is that google does the dance with websites in the serps ( especially new ones ) as a method of A / B testing of sorts. My thought is they are testing the click through and bounce rate of new sites vs already existing ones. Has nothing to do with back links or anything like that.. its just new.

    Even with existing sites, anytime you publish new content that page will do the same thing for a week or so.
