I'm a newbie here too. And matter fact I was doing totally wrong in my opinion. I was posting my offered product on classified ads, and it was really disappointing, my visitors rate was really really low. I am still straggling, but at least testing ground and trying to find how to get traffic to my site. As above mentioned to use SEO friendly pages, I use Yoast SEO to optimize my pages, so far I have readability and keywords indicators green, I mean it's "good". However, one of my concern's is that if my site is structured properly, are my pages present any value to visitors and are they engaging.
Above replies some you guys mention about backlink, i made some research and everyone was defining backlink spouse to come from authority sites, google loves it.

I advice you to make backlink just after publishing article on ur blog. (Search in google that related to your post and do comment with your post link in website place).
