Eventbrite Spam in Google Search

Hi, just browsing last night and used keywords 'cambridge v leeds live stream' in google.co.uk

https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourc...0live%20stream

I noticed that eventbrite events held 6 of top 7 search spots (in google .co.uk)

Anyone know how these eventbrite pages rank so high?

Obviously plenty of keyword stuffing but is that all it takes?

I'm searching the link you posted but I'm in the US so maybe not seeing the same results.

What I see is a triple search listing for eventbrite, positions 2, 3 and 4.

The way they pulled this off is partially from the Google freshness algo. (time sensitive dates), notice each of the three SERP listing descriptions:
    • Tue 10 Jan Abbey Stadium, Cambridge, England, GB
    • 10 Jan - 11 Jan U.K T.V || .+>|Cambridge ...
    • January 2017 at Clemens Stadium, Collegeville, MN.
Tue 10 Jan Clemens Stadium, Collegeville, MN, US

Notice Google is not using the eventbrite meta description text for the SERP descriptions.

Google is literally showing you what text they've pulled from the eventbrite pages.

Relevant internal links and relevant internal pages are also what's helping to rank those three pages for the same keyword.

    BTW, good question.

I tried creating a similar page yesterday in eventbrite with plenty of content, keywords in h1 tags etc but didnt get in top 100.

What are they doing differently to rank so high?

      Thanks

        Um, no.

It's a well established authority site, not a fiverr gig.

It's an authority site that has always based it's content on dates. It doesn't take much for eventbrite to rank for time sensitive keywords.

Look at the BIG picture, they were ranking date related pages years ago and some of those pages were 100% relevant to todays keyword.

I am not sure how eventbrite works. Can anyone create page over it and add his content just like Facebook pages?
If yes then they can easily be used as parasites to rank for short term.

I think these pages were set up to rank around 4-5hrs before the game kicks off.

The pages are no longer there, the game has finished and they have been deactivated as of today.

Still don't know how they rank so highly tho?

      I already told you.

Do a desktop search for the keyword eventbrite (Chrome browser), Google Search will have a popup asking for your location.

Everything on eventbrite is about dates and GEO locations, that's their only reason for existing. That's what they do.
