Adsense TOS - Probably a dumb question

Fellow warriors,

Just a quick question I hope that I need to ask as I am sure your more in the know about the google TOS for adsense than I am.

I know you cannot put pictures close or wording that says click here on the adsense blocks as that is a blatant breach of the TOS.

What I would like to know is if the main keyword for the site is a question and your providing posts to answer that question, is it a blatant breach to suggest that the google ads on the page may also offer more answers?

As you are telling the people that they are adverts not pretending other wise and your not telling them to click them just reminding them that the adverts may lead to more info.

Best wishes

Pete

That is kind of a gray area because you are both disclosing that they are ads (which is good) and suggesting that people click on them (which is bad). I would stay away from referring to the ads directly, just in case. Maybe say something like "Explore the links throughout the site for more answers." In reality you probably won't get in trouble for doing it the way you're suggesting. But if you do start making significant money, someone at the big G is going to notice and they may be very nitpicky about what is acceptable.

Thanks for the honest and frank reply.

I was kind of thinking it would be a grey area and as I want to be as white hat as possible I haven't yet and won't put it in those terms.

I like the thought as you put it 'explore the links throughout the site' maybe need to just add the phrase that some are adverts some are not ?

Just wondering if there is a way of hinting but not actually directing or telling them about the ads.

      Best wishes

Yeah. You can't tell people to click the ads at all. It's not even a gray area thing either.

    Not OK

    [suggestive title]
    [adsense block]
    [article]

    OK

    [title]
    [advertisements]
    [adsense block]
    [article]

Probably OK (but avoid click suggestive titles)

Thanks everyone and thought it might be and as I said I really want to remain whiter than white hat.

In no way do I want to get the big G even thinking about suspending or worse still banning my account.

All your feedback was appreciated and IM99 I do follow your threads as well as XFactors just as most people I do have questions from time to time.

    Best wishes
