    Hi there,

I don't think it's possible to know the EXACT keyword your visitors use. I mean, you have to pay Google lots if you're gonna have it done, don't you? LOL

There are monitoring tools out there that you can sometimes see how people found your site. Zopim chat has a way to monitor visitors as they enter and navigate your site. Sometimes, you can see the search phrases they used. Some shopping cart software lets you see those phrases but it all depends what browser they used, whether they were logged in and whether it was a secure search or not.

Generally speaking, though, it's not possible to tell what individual users typed in to find your site. It really doesn't matter how they found your site. You should be worrying about how to get more phrases higher in the search engines and not monitoring every little visitor as they come in. Increase your rankings and you'll get the visitors and when they buy things, you won't care at all what they typed in to reach you.

In GA.. yes it is very possible to see what term they typed to get on your site. By clicking on the content tab, and then selecting "landing pages" you have entered the GOLD MINE of SEO data. Not only do you get an idea of position of your content, but you can start looking at number of impressions vs clicks ( start playing with description text maybe ) you can look for those terms that are not ranking all that well and might be getting a good amount of impressions ( Maybe a keyword term you need to either look at the lander and see if there is some alterations that could be made or better yet write some fresh content targeting that term and see how that ranks )

I am not about to say that more isn't better... but you are better off at looking at your own sites real time ( ok slightly delayed ) data and see where improvements can be made. If you have some LSI term back on page 8 in the serps pulling 50 impressions a month.. its a pretty good indicator that the content in front of you isn't that strong.

Once you are beyond SEO on paper.. IE all the initial keyword investigation and whatever else, and the site goes live... Hrefs and Majestic and Moz can all fall to the way side. everything you need is in GA.

So how to make this work to your advantage.... there are 3 types of content you should be writing there is LSI based content, Exact Match based content and Intent based content.

LSI based content are the pages you will glean the most usable data from. Using GA as I described above you will be able to identify low laying fruit and terms that are best to target. You would then write exact match content to rank for those specific terms. You then need to get into Google itself and figure out if the term itself is the end of the intent chain, or does that term just create more questions.. once you determine that the end user will probably expand their search, you need to write content to fulfill that need.

A great example I saw some time ago on another forum, the term "Wedding". The numbers for the term are actually kind of staggering... but without question typing in that term is going to lead to further refinement of the term from the end user. "How much is a wedding?" or "What is the best month to have a wedding?" or Do I have to wear white?"

If you go search Google for the term "Wedding" and take a look at the first few serp listings.. they all have something in common... They all are basically link pages to other pages on the site - based on INTENT.

Without content you simply do not have SEO. Understanding not only what to write / target, but how to be more effective at it, is key.

    Hi BestBuySoftwares,

Yes, that is possible, and relatively easy to setup. You just need to link your Google Search Console property to your Google Analytics web property.

The Search Console reports in Analytics provide information about the performance of your organic-search traffic. You can see data like user queries and the number of times your site URLs appear in search results (impressions), along with post-click data about site engagement like bounce rate and ecommerce conversion rate. This combination of data helps you optimize your site for the most profitable traffic.
Before you can see the Search Console reports, you need to:
    1. Add your site and verify it with Search Console.
If you have not yet used Search Console, you need to add your site to Search Console to begin collecting search-query data for the SEO reports in Analytics.
    2. Configure SEO reporting within Analytics.
    To see the reports:

1.Sign in to your Analytics account.
    2. Navigate to your view.
    3. Select the Reporting tab.
    4. Select Acquisition > Search Console.
    https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1308617

That will get the data coming in. To see exactly what you are looking for you can create a dashboard widget to see the top 10 search terms with goal completions, or create a custom report with whatever data you want.

    HTH,

i think, you have to use funnel goal option which at least tell you which is click first then you find which targeted keywords and check search console.

Open your GA account and access the customization tab then you need to customize your report to show the keyword used by your users to visit the page.
