Lol, maps.googleapis.com API is OPs slowest loading thing on his Home page.

OP, run the site/page through Firebug (Google it), select Persist and refresh the page, that will show how fast each code snippet loads.

To be honest your site/page has a decent loading time, don't worry about it as far as SEO.

Better to look into Inline CSS & Javascripts, optimize Heavy images, minify javascript & CSS, compress HTML to reduce its size.

Worpress site should install WP rocket plugin (premium).
Smush image plugin decrease images size
and i think you can try AMP.
Have some element as html, css zip; data center

I`d recommend you to start with simple fixes, I have just ran a quick speed audit for your homepage out of curiosity, and it looks like you have some uncompressed images and other resources, also some of the js and css files can be minified,and the caching may be configured a bit better:

According to the tool these fixes can save more than 40% of your page and reduce the load time respectively.

I have to agree with Yukon here. Your site loads plenty fast enough. Nobody is going to leave it because pages load too slowly. Your rankings are not being affected because of page load time.

Stop worrying about arbitrary scores from tools and worry more about what human beings think. I'd move onto things that can make a real difference like content and backlinks.

Website speed does matter. Have recently changed web hosting companies. Getting faster speeds, paying less, SEO rankings improved and traffic up.
Had a VPS site running Drupal which was fully optimized. have "downgraded" to a shared hosting account, but it uses LiteSpeed servers and has less customers per server. The page loading speeds have halved.
If you are not fast you are last.

Very true if you have a slow site. This is not a slow site. Pages load very quickly and nobody is going to hit the back button because the pages of this site are taking too long to load. Cutting page speed from a second to a half second will not gain you a single new visitor nor will it gain you anything measurable in rankings.

Believe what you will and obsess over this if you want; there are better things to spend your time on.

Hi but my experience suggests otherwise. I boosted my website speed and my search engine rankings improved. Visitor numbers increased by 20%. I was surprised by this. I appreciate that this does not prove that speed caused the improvements but am simply giving feedback on what happened. And the change halved my hosting costs.

You boosted your speed from what to what? Four seconds to two seconds will make a difference. Shaving off a half second doesn't do squat.

And, of course, I have to wonder if that was the ONLY change you made during this miraculous rankings jump (which you now say was a "traffic" jump). No new links, no new content, no tweaks of any kind to the website and a page speed boost of a half second is the only thing that happened. If you changed ANYTHING else, all you have is a correlation and even if not, backlinks you acquired months ago or page content you changed weeks ago may finally have started kicking in.

There definitely are sites that need to concentrate on improving their page speed. This isn't one of them, though.

website speed does plays an important role in conversions there are many ways which you can implement

try new image formats to reduce the size of your images.
Evaluate your plugins
Enable compression
Use expires headers.
Minify JavaScript and CSS
