Anyone noticed that traffic from google image search vanished overnight?

I think it happened sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday when traffic from images.google.fr, images.google.de, and other international image searches just all of a sudden disappeared from google analytics. I still get the same amount of search engine traffic from regular google and from places like docs.google.com but the referrals from the non-english image search vanished. I find this weird as when I search images.google.fr and others from my images, they are still in the same position. Was there some change to the way google analytics counted these referrals as since now they are gone?

Google is doing pretty much a lot crazy stuff lately. So, you have give it time to things get settled.

Thank god someone else has this problem, I thought I was the only one. I've gone from getting around 50 hits a day from images.google.de/fr etc to 0 from Wednesday the 8th. I thought these might now be included with images.google / organic on google analytics but this is not the case as that traffic has vanished overnight as well (like you, my image rankings have also not changed at all).

What I have found out through experimenting with clicking on my own images on google images is that all google image traffic, regardless of country, is now showing up as google / organic, i.e. it is being lumped in with standard web search. This is somewhat annoying as I liked having it separated out. Hopefully it will continue to show up separately in google webmaster tools.

I think I've found out why. On google.de and google.fr, your site no longer hovers in the background when people look the image, they have to click on the "visit this site" button to visit your site. This makes sense since referrals from google.de and google.fr had an 80%+ bounce rate since it was just an iframe. Now they don't see your site unless they click the button.
