Google Disavow tool for anchor text dilution - is it effective?

Hello,

I've been thinking about using Google disavow tool for anchor text dilution, as my website has too many inbund links with exact match anchors. Actually, I intend to disavow exact match anchors from low authority domains and to keep only a few from strong domains.

Is this tactic effective for anchor text dilution? Does disavowing domains/links have any effect on the anchor text diversity?

Thank you very much

    Hello

Yes, it's effective if done correctly.

There is a proper format which is required to be inserted and some patience after that. It surely works, i am telling you this from my personal experience.

Yes you can do that but my opinion would be to try to contact those webmaster and ask them to remove links or replace them and if you dont get a response just disavow them.

Google doesn't care about anchor text diversity, so no, it won't make one bit of difference in how any of your pages are ranking.

Actually, I take that back. If Google accepts the links on your Disavow list and does decide to ignore them, your rankings will probably drop.

I've gotten links from site owners I've never approached, because they liked what they found on my site. They pretty much use the same phrases to link... so, real to goodness backlinks, the kind Google gets wet dreams over, ain't diverse, based on my experience.

Basically, the anchor text is something like: blue widgets or read more about blue widgets or just the url.

Some pages got almost 100 % of the first type.

True, I'm a statistically insignificant, but that's how it's been in my case... Also, when I link to sites that I do not care about but think my visitors will find useful, I use the naked url only.

No. The disavow tool is crap, if you want to dilute then remove the links. Otherwise focus on bigger SEO issues that will have an effect on your rankings.

according to my experience, it is quite effective.
you can delete the link, replace or rejected if they negatively affected by Google Disavow Links tool or Google Webmaster Tool.
