Tracking seo progress

Hello WF,

Is there software anyone can recommend for tracking seo progress.
I am new to seo and was approached by someone who wants to "promote" my site. Basicly how can he prove to me what he is doing on paper is working because I know seo takes time so I won't get results right away.

      What if started linking my site to places? How do I know traffic came from his links not mine? Sorry 4 the noob question.

        To monitor your backlinks you should probably use a trustworthy tool as well. You can track the traffic in Google Analytics, or use a backlink sevice that has integration with it. I`d recommend SEO SpyGlass - it allows to track overall progress, verify backlinks` presence in real-time and see the traffic (referral sessions) received by the linked pages through these backlinks (if you connect your GA account), and lots of other useful stats. To be on the safe side you should also analyze your backlink profile systematically and get rid of the toxic links in time.

    To track seo work use backlink watch and ahrefs.com tools to get complete analysis what you done in seo and their results..
