Hi everyone, now I got a keyword named "landscape fabric", used Moz keyword tool to check its difficulty which is 42, it was much more difficulty than normal phrases which I usually met(normall their difficulty are always 20-30)

Let's take a look at the SERPs from Google organic searches:

Top 1,2 are inner pages of homedepot,3 is of lowes, 4 is of amazon, 5 is of walmart.

6,7,8 are all inner pages of blog, 9 is a vieo from Youtube.

Based on the above resutles, can you say this keyword "landscape fabric" is of so much difficluty?

    Here's a real case study.

Moz is not accurate and creates fake metrics for noobs to get sucked into their sales funnel.

The keyword landscape fabric is a competitive keyword on Google SERPs. Home Depot has a double SERP with Sitelinks. That alone (forget everything else) is the most obvious sign of a competitive keyword.

The ads pushing the 1st organic listing half way down the search results is also a sign of what to expect.

My point was, even If you did manage to get the #1 organic search position the click through rate (CTR) is going to be lower with those paid Google ads, especially the image ads because images alone can have a higher CTR than text links.

It might be possible to get the same/similar traffic volume ranking for a similar keyword with less work. You just have to do the research.

Example: the keyword how to install landscape fabric doesn't have ads on the SERPs but it can still be a buyer keyword.
