Change of address mistake in Google Search Console

Long time reader, first time poster. And like so many others before me, one of my f**k ups is what led me here today for advice

While doing a blog migration today I set the "change of address" destination to be the http version of the property when it should have been the https version.

Do you think that's worth withdrawing the request? Or is it even going to matter? The actual destination domain is correct.

Thank you in advance!

Just contact your hosting company tell them you have made a mistake and ask them how to do it right.

I just have a Digital Ocean droplet so they don't really handle issues like this.

If you can't do it for yourself then hire a professional who can handle cloud servers.

This thread has nothing to do with hosting or cloud servers.

To be completely honest, I've never screwed up something like that

If it was me though, I would do the withdraw request and resubmit the correct information.

As long as you have the proper 301 redirects setup, you are probably fine either way. All the change of address function is really supposed to do is give Google a little bit of a heads up about what is going on so they move more quickly to replace the old URLs in their index with the new ones.
