Which links to use to diversify anchor text?

Hi,

I was wondering which links people use to diversify anchor text? I know its important to have a good number of click here links and branded ones but I like to keep my keyword anchor text for my good links. It would be a waste I think to put a click here anchor text on a really good back. Or is this a dated way of backlinking? Is it more important to use the keyword in the article and then use a branded link? Or is there any easy to get, relatively useless links, just for the purpose of diversifying backlink anchor text? Is paid directory links a good way to go?

    Although the anchor text may have a small effect on the "power" of the link, it's not the be-all, end-all. The strength of the site and the page it is linking from as well as the relevancy of that page to the page it is linking to are far more important. We don't worry about anchor text and never have.

    If you have THAT much control over your anchor text, chances are you are building some pretty worthless links.

      Just make sure the anchor text is not over optimized.
