I just started out in marketing and would like to know more about SEO. I know that SEO stood for search engine optimization. And I knew that the better your SEO was, the higher you would rank on search engines. Theres a lot I didnt know and I have questions but wasn't sure who to ask for clarification.
I would like to ask whats the difference between organic vs. paid results? What are meta descriptions and do they still matter?

The page views come directly through SERP and not through any off page optimization is known as organic results. Organic search results are the web page listings that most closely match the users search query based on relevance. Also known as natural search results.

Paid results are basically ads. Some website owners want to show their web pages for certain keywords. They have paid for.

Organic traffic is that which you get for free but it takes some time to acquire and paid ones such as PPC are money consuming but they can send you traffic instantly.

The paid ads in Google are at the top, side and bottom of their search results page with 'Ads' label:

As one of the member correctly pointed out from the image above, you can surely understand the difference between organic and paid results.

In simple words organic traffic is the traffic that you get from search engines naturally. On the other hand if you pay through adwords for traffic, it is paid.

Since nobody answered the meta description part of your question, I'll do that. Google has said repeatedly that meta descriptions do not help your SEO but what Google says and what they actually do are often two very different things. While it may be true that they have no direct SEO benefit, they might help your click-through rate, which many believe is a component of the new Rank Brain algorithm filter.

Some people say they do not matter and that it is better to have Google generate one for you. Others, like myself, think it is better to create a compelling meta description that will generate a click. Neil Patel wrote an excellent article about this a few years ago - How To Write A Meta Description That Gets Click-Throughs

I should also point out that Google is not the only search engine on the planet, although they clearly dominate the market. Bing lists the meta description as important in their Webmaster Guidelines - https://www.bing.com/webmaster/help/...lines-30fba23a

    hi,

Organic paid: When a search engine returns its search results, it gives you two types: organic and paid. Organic search results are the Web page listings that most closely match the user's search query based on relevance. Also, called "natural" search results, ranking high in the organic results is what SEO is all about.

Paid results are basically advertisements: The Web site owners have paid to have their Web pages display for certain keywords, so these listings show up when someone runs a search query containing those keywords.

    Thanks,

First, Google displays paid results, or pay-per-click ads. This is the section where you pay every time someone clicks on the ad. Ads cost as little as one cent or as much as several hundred dollars for each click.

Next, Google displays, organic search results. In the image above, the organic results are highlighted in blue. You do not have to directly pay Google to show up here. Google tries to provide the best and most relevant websites that fulfill the intent of the search term. However, you will have to invest time and money to rank for specific keywords.

Organic search is you used white hat seo techniques to get good rankings in the search engines without paying any charges would not like Pay per Click, long process or time consuming but naturally and create more traffic.
Google adword it depends on the budget, provide fast results and gather more traffic quickly, according to investigating it as a short-term process and less effective.

A friend recommended that I hire a Demandwave to help me with my blog. If they say that they are offering digital marketing services, does that mean that they can help me with both organic and paid?
