Hi,

I'm looking at doing some Online Reputation Management as we've got 1x closed forum thread and 2x open forum threads appearing front page of Google that have been left to cause damage for over 5 years.

We're now starting to see this affect conversion and business in general.

How would you recommend I tackle these? I've got a basic understanding of SEO, but would welcome advice on how I start to tackle this problem.

Our business is on all social media platforms, review platforms (positive reviews all around) & wikipedia.

Thank you.

You need to rank enough other properties to knock them off of page one. Same way you rank anything else.

We provide reputation management services and fIrst of all reputation management is not cheap, especially if you can't get the forum posts deleted.

In it's simplest form you are doing SEO on the webpages that rank below the problem SERP entries. This pushes the problem entries off the first page. This is pretty much the only way to do it so that it lasts and doesn't backfire like the cheap solutions do.

You have a choice, either change the name and domain of your company or spend the money on reputation management.

After 5 years, the crap is still outranking the site?

You have a very, very, very weak site.

    Start working hard on it.

People think a site is strong because it outranks another.

A lot of times, the second site is just weak and sick.

      Sadly so, yes!

I'm putting investing a lot of time into making this work (only been with the company 2 months).

The sites in question are weak, and with them been so outdated in many cases are irrelevant.

We're finding that due to appearing so high up in the search results people are flocking to them to complain rather than creating a new thread in the site in question

      Thanks for your response, Paul.
