Hi guys, first of all I know that everybody makes this question all the time.

The thing is I have a blog, I have an Instagram with almost 2000 followers and I have a YouTube channel who is still growing, my problem is that I don't get any traffic to my website and I have the link on Instagram and YouTube.

I don't want to create a FB for my project because my content is more relevant to YouTube and Instagram but I am stucked in ways to get more traffic.

I do SEO but my blog doesn't get higher in Google ranks and I'm out of Ideas for it.

So I'm looking for a better way (FREE WAY) to attract young people who want to travel low cost and be more sociable, can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Since YouTube and Instagram are very visual you might also consider Pinterest which is also highly visual.

Pinterest can do well in the travel niche. If you have a blog that you can send them to then start pinning your posts to Pinterest. Join travel related group boards and re-pin your posts there. The bigger group boards can send a flood of traffic for a viral type post.

      Thanks!

      this is true.

you must treat pinterest like a search engine and not like social media.

My website is about teaching how to travel low cost, and my niche is travel.

On my instagram I post every day pictures of my travels and/or quotes travel related.

While in YouTube I posted a video explaining the concept and I will post more teaching young people many ways to travel more, save more and meet everyone.

      Thanks!

    YouTube is a GOLD MINE.

If you see others killing it at something and you haven't quite figured out how to make it work for you...

Never look at it and say "this is not working, on to something else."

Rather say; "it's working for many people so I know it will work for me if I figure it out."

I've launched an entire product and will be scaling that into a business on the strength of YT traffic alone. Like you, I failed at YT - at first...

Anyway, here's how to increase the amount of traffic you get from YouTube:
    • Be laser focused on ranking your videos. That starts with doing everything you can to ensure folks watch all of your video. Percentage of video viewed is the #1 ranking factor this year. You should also be going after the most competitive terms out there. Forget that long tail stuff. I say that because when people watch a great majority of your video, YouTube will RECOMMEND your videos right alongside the most viewed videos out there.
    • The video should make them feel something - excitement. People will feed off your energy... If they are not excited after watching your video, then there's no reason for them to visit your site. They'll just take what you have given and move on to the next video. What can you do to make them excited? Excited enough to stop in their tracks, click on your link, and opt-in to your "ethical bribe" or sign up to be on your list?
    • Brand your videos. For example, if your site name is "YellowApples.com" - then you should have "YellowApples.com" or your Logo that says "Yellow Apples" in clear text branded to the bottom left or right of your video for the entire length of the video.
    • Include link to your site as the first link you feature in your description.
    • Link to other videos in each of your YT videos. Only link to YOUR BEST and top performing vidoes.
    • Ask folks a question on your opt-in form to get a better sense of the content they want... What makes them hungry. For instance, I am in a niche where folks want to buy limited edition sneakers. I ask them "what's the next sneaker you want to cop?" I take those responses and I am able to create titles and descriptions for future videos. After 48 hours, one of my latest videos is on pace to take over a top 3 spot.

I will work to personally continually master YouTube BEFORE moving to Instagram.

In initial testing I saw that IG ADS do not work. People hate ads.

But, I have gotten direct messages on the few Instagram videos I have created and used hashtags as a means to generate organic traffic...

    I hope this helps...

First of all thank you so much for replying!

Yes that helped a lot! I will use those tips on my next YT videos and it makes a lot of sense what you said about getting people excited, otherwise they won't take action on anything.

Some of the techiques I already use on YT but I will implement the others on my next videos.

Regarding IG I have it a lot longer than YT and I have more followers on it as well, maybe because my niche is travel and it's more visual.

But I will change my approach towards YT from now on.

      Thanks!

Put your link in everything you do, every email, every video, the caption below every picture. Even direct them to your link at the end of every video. If you have a larger following they should be happy to go to your link when you tell them.

Use long tail keyword to get organic traffic.
Youtube is an amazing trafic source to get traffic from. Once you deliver good stuff. people pay attention if they find valuable informations they start listening to you.

You can use facebook groups too. Go where there are communities.

Many times people think that article marketing just means writing articles for article directories. But I personally think that article directories should be a very small part of your article marketing strategy. I believe that blog posts should be a huge part of your article marketing strategy. And I'm not talking about blog commenting, or spammy blog posts. I'm talking about writing articles and putting them on blogs.

There are a few ways you can do this.

One way is to become a guest blogger, where you agree to write so many articles per month or per week for a blog. You get great exposure, because the blog gets the traffic, people read your article, and then they click through to your site as a result of reading your article. It works just like submitting an article to an article directory, but instead you are submitting the article to a blog.

So how do you write an article for a blog? The first step of course is determining your topic. The blog owner might tell you what to write about. Or you get to know your niche and find out what they want to learn about. And especially, what do they want to know about that others are not adequately teaching?

Once you know your topic, if at all possible, either write an article that creates just a little controversy or polarization, or write an article that gives someone steps to doing something. I believe that an article with controversy or polarization tends to increase the authenticity of your article, and that leads people trusting you if they subscribe to your list. And it also can increase future views to the blog, which is good for you because if your future articles get more views, then you get more traffic!

And if you write an article that gives people steps to doing something, if someone needs what you are teaching, then the article becomes really useful. And my opinion is that if the article is really useful, then when people read it, they take action. And if they take action, then they remember you. And if your advice works, they remember that. And when it is time for them to do business, they choose to do business with you. And of course that is why you are writing articles in the first place, so people will choose to do business with you.

As a blogger who wants to provide extra value, I'm always embedding YT videos and Slideshares in my posts.

I would research bloggers in the millennial space, especially those focused on travel. Reach out to them via email and ask them to share your videos on their blog.

You can also ask them for video ideas and maybe even do a joint project with them. This allows you to get more exposure by using their audience.

    Hope this helps!

The marketing for hedonistic gap year students is going to be different to evangelical Christian gap year students who want to see more of God's earth.

Once you've got this you can start thinking about the marketing.

I'm going to repeat my mantra but it's worth repeating:

Effective marketing is getting the right message to the right market through the right medium at the right moment

So you really need to know your market.

      Which leads me to this:

I suspect you are right but find out where your audience are and if the mountain won't go to Muhammad then Muhammad will have to go to the mountain.

With regards SEO and article marketing its about quality and again this is largely based on knowing your audience.

One brilliant article can be worth thousands of mediocre ones.

If we take the examples above an article on

How to visit Europe's 10 best party capitals for the price of a big Mac

      Or

Visit The Holy Land for a dollar a day

Will get traction with your now super niche audience assuming you put them in the right place at the right time.

The beauty with this approach is you can make small changes to an article and target a completely different niche. Are those party capitals also in places of historic significance, natural beauty, etc.

Hi quadagon, first of all WOW. You just gave me awesome ideas I really appreciated that!

What you wrote about target my market it's very important as well.

I thought I could segment it just for people from 18-25 who speak english and like to travel could be enough but I was dead wrong.

I think I will focus on Erasmus students or GAP year adventure people, it's way more specific and that way my message will be more engaging.

Regarding the article I will do anything possible to write awesome and personalized articles too.

"One brilliant article can be worth thousands of mediocre ones."

And I want to stand as much as possible and even though my gold is in the email list I have to give value to reader so they know I know what I'm talking about.

        Thank you so much!

sometimes all you have to do is ask. You can post a pic on Instagram that says to find out about my website (sell it as something more exciting than my more generic topic) by clicking the link in my bio. You can ask people to hang out with you at your website on Youtube, verbal ask. You can also add links to your site in the description of your videos...

I think you need to have a facebook fan page. youtube is obviously very popular and a high traffic site but so is facebook; you can create a page relevant to what you're offering and facebook will put it in front of people who are interested in this niche.

if you want to succeed online you must utilise every avenue you possibly can. if one or more of them prove to be not working for you then you can cull them. but don't ignore facedobook, it's very powerful for marketers.

I hope that helps in some way and good luck!

There is no such thing as free traffic. You either pay with cash or pay with your time. Free traffic takes months to perfect, so if time is money you're still paying for it. Keep that in mind

Also - This is super important: Does your blog look sexy on mobile devices? Nobody uses Instagram from their computer so if your website is not mobile ready your traffic will never convert from Instagram.

The most important thing to do with any business is to know who your customer is. Your customer will most likely be a college student. College students are poor and want to travel, so this is a perfect fit. Find out where they are and advertise to them.

Here are some free/near free methods that will target your market.

    Traveling Facebook Groups
    College Student Forums
College Bulletin Boards (Find someone on Fiverr)
Blog Comments on Existing Travel Blogs (Dont be spammy)
