Hi everyone,

New to the forums here and looking forward to learning more about SEO and SEM generally! Would really appreciate anyone's advice on my website in terms of SEO. I am so close to being at the top for several keywords within "window cleaning in ottawa" (including window cleaners, window washing, etc.).

Here is the website: www.ottawastudentwindows.com

Any advice is really really appreciated!

Best,

Matt

Hi I can see currently you are in 6th position on above keywords. Now it will make time to increase in ranking. you need to focus on linkbuilding in 1-4 tiers using different platforms like backlinks from Web2.0, social profile, shares, forum profile, forum/blog comment, guest posting, wiki, wiki article, contextual from PR0-9 and DA10-100 sites.

I see you ranking #1 in the local results for window cleaning in ottawa, window cleaning ottawa, ottawa window cleaning, and around #8-12 organically for those keywords. You are right around the same for a bunch of other keywords too.

Honestly, I would keep doing what you have been doing and stay away from ignorant advice like this...

    Ignore all of that crap.

If you have not already, make sure you are in any and all relevant business directories like Yelp, FourSquare, etc. Reach out to local community sites and see if they would be willing to link to you. I forget if there is something like the Chamber of Commerce in Canada. If there is, you might want to consider joining that and getting listed in their directory, which can be good for both SEO and some direct traffic.

Take a look at your top 2-3 competitors and try to get a feel for what they are doing. Emulate anything you can.

And again, ignore stuff like what I quoted above. There is probably going to be a whole heap of more stupid stuff like that in this thread.

If you are still not doing these activities you can start focusing on these:
    - Business listings
    - Guest postings

This will help you in branding and SEO as well.
