Why Won't My "Company Name" Rank in Google?

I purchased a domain name a few months ago but never really did anything with it.

A few weeks ago I put up a website, fresh content, nice design, etc.

However, my "Company Name" still won't rank in Google? See below:

"Company Name" - doesn't rank
"CompanyName" - doesn't rank
"CompanyName.com" - ranks!

The website doesn't have any links pointing to it. I've purchased 5 web 2.0 links that should be going live within 10 days or so.

Any ideas on how to QUICKLY get "Company Name" to rank in Google...?
#company name #google #rank

If your company is not ranking on Google or other search engine, then you need to SEO of it. As we all know that to get ranked on Google we need to focus on Keywords through which we can rank well. Keywords should be according to category as well as keywords should be not so much competitive. Website design is also a feature through which we can do this.

There are many reasons to it depending upon your situation.

    Case 1
If your company name keyword is highly competitive then it would be difficult to get rank so easily. Check if any other company uses similar name and might have optimized their website to get rank for company name keyword.

    Case 2
If your company name keyword is not highly competitive then try to put your company name along with address in google search, if you don't see your company's listing which means that there is no index page available at Google for your Company Listing, To correct this simply follow below steps.

First Go to Google Business (Formerly Google Places) and add your company details along with your website details, complete both Phone as well as Address verification. Once done your Google Business Listing will appear in searches and though if the company name keyword is highly competitive your listing will start appearing in local searches.

I hope this helps you !

It happens when your site is not ranking well and way behind millions of sites...when you type something on Google, it considers them keywords and rank sites accordingly...so even if your URL contains the words, it won't show up until you have good traffic and substantial links pointing to your site...

If it ranks for "CompanyName.com" - looks like it is indexed. But as it`s fresh and got zero backlinks - no wonder it is not showing up yet. Build more strong backlinks, extend the content and investigate the winning pages for keywords you target to see which tactics are working for the niche.

That`s quite hard to give any specific advice not knowing the niche, the keywords and the website, but if your company name is not a branded name but consists of generic niche keywords - you`ll have to put some more efforts into beating the competitors with websites relevant to those keywords (with better content / stronger backlink profiles).

Yeah..sure. Meta title IS NOT USED BY ANYONE ON THIS PLANET IN 2017.

Watch your website sink to the bottom if you are using meta title....ROTFLMAO!

      Anyway..back to reality.

Your site is not ranking for your business name for 2 reasons, and 2 reasons only.

      1) Your site is not indexed.
      2) Your "company name" is the same as big companies or phrases they own the market on.

If your business name is McD's Hamburgers...you are screwed.

However, I bet if your site is indexed.....you will be able to find it "ranking" by adding something to the search.

Of course nobody will ever find it....not that there's anything wrong with that...

Just create some press releases with your company name (the name you want to rank) and then, link to YOUR company. Then, ping those press releases. Done! You should rank within a few days. Easy.

I bought a really nice brand about 3 years ago to do live events, and I'll be damned - a company is putting on a live event using my brand name. It's beyond frustrating.

As Harrycarted said it depends what keywords you used in your domain name, however you can achieve your goal by getting backlinks with branded or naked anchor texts e.g yourdomain.com or your company name - from paid directories, guest blogs, forums, social communities.

Still on-page will be the most important part to achieve this if you used high competitive keyword in your domain name.

Use your brand name in title, h1, 2 to 3 times in your body content (if your have 200+ words on your home page), logo alt text.

I hope it will help you out

    - First do google business listing of your location.
    - Connect your website with google search console properly like, robot.txt, sitemap, etc..
    - Proper On-Page optimization, content optimization of your website.
    - Generate quality back-links of high DA sites.
To rank your company name on google - add your company name on your website's home page as h1 tag title or add in first para and make hyperlink of your website, same thing you can do in off-page activity. Definitely it will affect what you want.

    Thank you!

  • The content is always the king. Your content should be original and relevant that enable people to learn from you to earn, possibly save, and addresses what they are looking for.

In building a site, put your shoes on your readers. Earning money from your site follows when you have established trust with people around. Use the social media as the source of your traffic. Never purchase a link.

First use webmaster tools, set up your sitemap and get Google to trawl your website. This just lets the Google bots know your website is there.

After that you need onsite optimization. Depending on the competition of your website subject it may take longer for your website to start ranking. If it a small niche then you might see it in 2 weeks or even sooner.

From your message I get the feeling that it is just your company name not coming up when you enter it in search that is bugging you, and the part above with webmaster tools should help with most of that.

I have an SEO website and if you feel you might like to know a little more about various SEO services then just click through.
I have written a few sentences about most methods of SEO.

Like some of other people who commented I wouldn't advise buying links but that is your own choice.
    Best of luck,
    James

It's depends, check If your keyword is in high competition, If it you need to do focus more by keeping competitors.
your site is the keyword then you have optimize your on page in meta tags, description and page description make sure you have enough keyword density. And internal linkage to that keyword with appropriate pages.
Apart from this you need to get some High authority page links for that will boost link juice. Don't just hands- off by purchased links go do some guest posts on niche websites.

You should concentrate doing proper keyword research along with other SEO strategies such as back link building, social media involvement and lot more or else you can hire any SEO service providers.

Submit your new backlinks to here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url
Now start getting better backlinks and maximum your on page SEO. Give it a week or so it should be fine. (I'm assuming there isn't big brand with the same name of your company, or even similar because there you'll need more efforts)

    1. Create a sitemap
    2. Create a free Google Account, then sign up for Webmaster Tools. Add your new site to Webmaster Tools, then go to Optimization > Sitemaps and add the link to your website's sitemap to Webmaster Tools to notify Google about it and the pages you have already published.

And don't purchase backlinks. Not a good practice and it can bite you later on. Good luck.

You are getting some good advice from what I have read but you are also getting a lot of false signals. The bottom line is there NO get ranked quick with Google PERIOD! If you are doing everything right, including proper keywords, setting up your meta data right, making sure to submit your site to search engines and a long list of other things, you are still going to be in a void for 30 to 90 days before you see ANY results of any kind.

If you are in a mad rush to get respect from a search engine you are living in a dream land and if you think its possible you have been lied to and led down an empty path. If you think otherwise I urge you to seek the advice from a professional in the SEO world to explain it to you and dont rely on these forums to give you a straight answer!

First thing is do not use purchased links. Those are often spam links posted on other sites that will no more harm then good. They'll both get you penalized for spamming, and harm the reputation of your brand.

Now, on with your main questions.

First, to understand why your site may not be ranking, here are some major reasons for it to not rank:

1- The keywords you're competing for are too competitive

If this is the case, you will either need to be prepared to invest a lot of time and money into out-competing the top 10 ranking sites. Be prepared for a multi-year battle and spending thousands per month if you want to challenge a highly competitive market. My recommendation if this is the case is to find other keywords to focus on that still have enough searches per month, but are far less competitive.

2- Your site's not indexed yet

If this were the case, you would not even appear in the SERPs (search engine results pages) at all, not even in the last rank out of, say millions of ranked sites. You would need to take the steps others have commented on to get your site indexed by Google. I'd also recommend following similar steps for Bing and Yahoo as they also generate enough searches to make them worth your time. Regardless, it may take some weeks before the search engine crawlers reach your site.

    3- Your site's being penalized

Remember when I said do not buy links, they can often be spam links? Well, this is where that problem comes in, if any search engines catch you trying to game the system with low quality spammy links, they will penalize you and limit how high you are allowed to rank, usually banning you from the top 3 pages in most cases.

Other things that can get you penalized are:
    • "Keyword Stuffing" using keywords repeatedly in unnatural ways just to make your site look more relevant. Search engine algorithms don't like that, and neither do your visitors.
    • Malware or other signs of hacks on your site. If your site's been hacked, search engines may flag it in SERPs to help protect their users from possible harm. This will first of all kill clicks to your site as nobody wants to visit a potentially harmful site, and second, will lead to you being dropped down the rankings if you do nothing to fix the situation. If you just ignore warnings your site's been hacked and may contain malware, Google and other search engines may assume you want that malware there, de-list you, and even blacklist your site as "malicious".

    What can you do?

First, use a service like Moz, Majestic or Market Samarai to find out how competitive your site name is. If it shows as highly competitive, then consider revising your strategy, or accept you'll be starting with a handicap.

While you're at it, find keywords someone looking for what you're offering would be likely to use. Longer phrases tend to have fewer searches, but are more likely to connect with the people you intend to do business with, and who are ready to buy. Shorter, more generic search phrases tend to have higher volume of traffic, be dominated by top brands and have people further from being ready to buy.

If you're unsure how to use these tools or do keyword research, either invest time and money into training to do it yourself, or hire an SEO expert to do it for you.

Register your site with Google Search Console and Google Adwords. These will give you a wealth of information about how many people visit your site, where they come from, where they go, any errors or flags you may need to deal with and so much more.

If you have trouble setting this up or interpreting the info you're getting, a good SEO or Web Developer can help you here. They should know how to set these services up for you and interpret what the stats and reports mean and interpret them for you. Also note that there is a huge difference between a "Web Developer" and a "Web Designer." A web developer is a programmer who programs websites, a web designer is a specialization of graphic design that creates how a website will look. There is overlap between these 2 professions but they are very different in many ways.

The fact that "companyname.com" ranks tells me your site IS indexed so the most likely issue you're dealing with is either competition or improper use of your company name in your contents. Without knowing what your company name is, who your target market is and what your website is, I have no way of knowing what specific issues you're dealing with.
