Question about SEO and google

I have a very new site of a few weeks. crreferrals.com
I am backlinking to as many websites & business directories with pr ratings between 2-5 as I can find (waiting to see if I get a couple 6's I've applied for). All the sites are of related content to mine i.e. real estate & travel. Got Facebook going with a fan page and twitter as well. Have submitted articles about related content with backlink to me on 30 or so websites...

Although I come up in the top of Google for a a search like "Costa Rica Real Estate Consulting" it comes up in a directory I am in and not my actual page.

How long before Google notices "ME"? As in my actual Homepage. Am I doing something wrong? should I continue with my quest for good related backlinks? Is enough ever enough?

New to SEO and want to know if I am headed in the right direction or.

    Hello Isham,
    I am also new to SEO but I heard that it took 3 months or more before google recognizes you. As of I know I think you just continue bookmarking and some link building stuff.

    You are doing all the right things. For any new site, there is a lot of shuffling of the SERPs but in a few weeks you should find your site ranked where it should be. It's not uncommon to find a directory entry ranked higher at first.

      It's not uncommon to find a directory entry ranked higher at first.
      Need to make some good contents, right keywords, bookmarking and stuff to to be credible and informative to the readers. I know I didn't answer the question I just want to say this for more information.

    usfreeads is great place to post an ad. If you don't already know about it!

    Also check out Matt Cutts videos on youtube. He's a top Google engineer and offers a lot of great info on rankings.
