What Could've Happened? My Ezine article was delisted

Hey guys
I have an ezinearticle approved which ranked quite highly a while ago. After using Onlywire (about 20+ backlinks) on it and adding 4 more backlinks to the article, it got delisted off google. What could've happened? Was I building links too fast? Or was my bookmark not quality content (I spun the ezinearticle and used it as content to backlink to the article). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How long has it been since it got delisted? It could just be a Google Dance of sorts?

Adding a few backlinks isn't going to get an article delisted.

Unfortunately EzineArticles doesn't quite have the power it once did. I'd wait a while and maybe add some more backlinks but it may be a struggle to get the ranking back.

My article was indexed in Sept 18th, and only a few hours ago it disappeared. It didn't even fall in rankings, when I was searching the exact sentence from my ezine article, the only results were my social bookmarks and not the article, which means it got delisted.

      What happened your article.

      It's a problematic bookmarking thing.

First thing to do is search for:

      Site:http://www.ezinearticles.com/enter path to article here.

Just but searching for a sentacnce out of your article you are not really proving much as google has many quirks.

You could have lost your rankings for many reasons. The amount of backlnks you have got is low, i sometimes build 500 links to an article in a week and see no adverse effects.

New pages often rank highly for a short time and then dissapear. Building some more links to the page usualy gets the ranking back.

It could also be that your article is too similar to another page on the search terms SERP, or even an article on EZA that ranks for a similar term.

I have to say that I think that adding bookmarks leads to an article being delisted is utter nonsense.

What's to stop somebody taking down every competitive article if this was the case? I see an article above me in the listing so I bookmark it to remove it? This would be a spammers dream if this worked and the engineers at Google are smarter than that.

It was just coincidence. Google is forever shuffling pages around. It favors new content and gives this a boost for a few days. Then the content is older and Google lowers it or even removes it from the index.

I've done rather extensive tests using OnlyWire bookmark and share and can fully verify something is up with bookmarking your articles using it.

      Google are smart!

    Hey Intrepreneur

Thanks for the video, but it is really strange for google to target onlywire users. Shall I experiment and Onlywire all my competitors? This will be really scary if it works. I hope someone with experience could tell us what is actually going on.

I think I'm the only person that has taken this kind of research so seriously.

My advice is don't do it!

    Hey

Before I saw that video I also Onlywired another article, it was initially 4th on google for its keyword, now it dropped to 11th. I'll update this thread if the article disappears as well.

It would be really funny if this worked.
I can imagine loads of articles getting bombed by aggressive marketers and an article link war breaking out .

I bookmark every article I write. You're being superstitious . Newly indexed properties can be flaky sometimes, especially in response to links, but the bookmarks are not getting them banned

    Hey

Just to clear some matters, the ezine article itself was original content. However the backlinks have content which are spun versions of the original article.

Update: The first article which got delisted is back, and on first page of google for its keyword. The second article didn't get delisted, but fell beyond page 20 (cant find it in first 20 pages). I think onlywire didnt really kill the article, just caused some form of google dance.

Update V2: The second article came back on google page 1.

It seems that using onlywire will temporarily bring the rankings down, but all I did was to continuously build backlinks and they are back on google page 1

I agree with Mark...something is up with Onlywire.
Everytime I use it on something my ranking drops!
I thought it can't be Onlywire but recently I wrote an original article for ezines. It was on page 2 of Google.
I Onlywired it...It is now totally delisted and gone from Google!

Now the question is ...is it only Onlywire or other bookmark sites also? My guess is it is just Onlywire and has something to do with the uniformity of the bookmarking. Regardless for the time being bookmarking is no longer in my backlinks plan.
