    Trends are for tire chasers, avoid it unless you like nonstop work getting nowhere.

    Write amazing content that will really benefit your readers, I don't mean re-write something you have found but really crack down on subject matter. Make sure to write over 1000 words. Then reach out to people who the post relates to (ie. similar niche/businesses) and if your content is good they will share and you should get some good quality backlinks.
