On Topic AdSense Ads?

I am really frustrated with Google AdSense ads. While my webpages are clearly about one topic, Google displays ads that have NOTHING to do with the topic. The ads are not relevant in any way, shape, or form. It is a waste to even have AdSense on the webpage.

Any ideas as to how Google decides what ads to display?

BTW, when I look at the source code for Ezine and other big boys, they get to suggest appropriate ad topics. I sure wish that us little boys could do the same thing.

How old are these pages? Usually after a few days, the issue clears up. This same thing happened to me on a new site last week, and then fixed itself a day or two later.

There's also a way to do section targeting with adsense, so that you can eliminate the text on each page that might be causing the irrelevant ads. Google it. There's even a wordpress plugin that allows you to do this.

Do you notice any commonalities between the ads showing at least? Maybe it's something within your source code, footer, or sidebar that's making it happen - or maybe the words in your domain name have potential double meanings.

Ideally, if you try googling the term itself, the ads you see displayed in the search results are the ones you should be seeing on your pages. You can get there.

I get this every once and a while and it is eventually resolved. If it persists more than 1 week, check your source code and make sure someone hasn't hacked your page. I have seen it where people hack it to stuff hidden keywords and insert their own adsense code
