Ranking Search pages within site

is this a good idea?

Let's say I have multiple pages different "Kansas City Cap" or really any keyword.

Would it make sense to put more effort into ranking a search page within my site for that keyword?

My thinking is,
It is hard/expensive to get high quality real authority links. I'm thinking if I put these links towards a search result page, not only will juice flow to the result pages, it also may grab the reader to other pages.

What I don't know is,
Does Google give search pages less credibility?
Would this be a waste of good links/money?
Can this actually hurt your site?

Thank you to anyone that is willing to help with this question.

Look into Silo structure for SEO. Yukon on this forum's explained silo architecture a bunch of times well. Take a look at this thread, especially post 2: http://www.warriorforum.com/search-e...-question.html. There are, of course, other threads where Yukon goes into it and, of course, I did not look them up.

    But you can.
