Answer questions on Quora without impacting website SEO?

I regularly answer questions on Quora in my Niche. These answers are usually detailed and very long, which makes for good content. I would like to use these answers as blog posts/articles on my website.

Will recycling the content on my website negatively impact my SEO rankings?

Is there a way I can post the same content on both platforms, while still giving my website the preference when it comes to SEO?

Thanks!

    Hi Steven.

Based on my personal experience of using Quora for traffic, I suggest you go the LinkedIn way.

What I mean is write a 400-500 word summarized content for your long posts; just like you see on LinkedIn. You can then add links to your content(on Quora) which will drive readers from there to your site.

I have used this strategy for one of my clients and it definitely helped.

The key here is to pique the interest of the reader (through your post on Quora) just enough for him/her to click on the links within the content and land on your website.

What this also does is it eliminates the duplicate content issue. Writing a brief summary shouldn't be too much of a headache.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you try out this approach.

    Hi Steven,

As per me I would suggest you that Quora is used to get traffic. When you write long post using links which drives readers from there to your site than why to write those same articles on your blog and increase duplicate content.

It is an excellent platform to share experience and knowledge.
The other platform you can share such experiences are warrior forum, twitter community, linkedin, Facebook and so on.

    Hi Steven,

I've been using Quora for traffic for quite a long time and its worth spending time on this platform. Regarding the contents, I'm gonna agree with renbouy what I do is, take any of my old posts on blog, summarize it according to the question on Quora and then post there with a link back to my site.

I have greatly improved quality traffic (not useless traffic) and bounce rate of my site. Try this instead of just duplicating contents. Good luck!

Quora is a nonissue for seo, positive or negative.

You people have no clue as to how quora works, the internet works, or how google works.

Typical blah blah blah nonsense replies.

Odds are Quora pages will out rank your self hosted pages considering you're asking how to do SEO and Quora is an overall authority.

My bet is your pages get buried in Supplemental SERPs, even If you post on your own domain first and post the same content on Quora second.

When you start answering of the question make sure you are writing a suitable and correct answer. Do not give wrong answer because it might circulate the wrong answer in the users. Without impacting website SEO just put up the question which is related to your website and start answering and don't mention your website name or URL. Just give the answer as a consultant or advisor or specialist.

Answering question on Quora increases up the trust Factor in the google , when more and more people start liking your answers and reviews your authority on quora increases and people start awaiting for your answers. Thus it also gives you opportunity to add links on it.
