Hi,

Is there any use in including the list of target countries in the content of a web page to rank well in those countries? That is if we want to target say, Canada, UK and Australia - then would mentioning the names of these countries in the content of of the web page help us to rank better in those countries?

That is if we are in USA and are trying to rank for the keyword "branding consultancy canada", will mentioning of the word "Canada" in the web-page content, meta description etc. help us at least a bit to rank better in Google.ca (Google Canada) with all other factors being the same?

In most serps that won't give you much of a bounce but in local results mentioning cities and neighborhoods can really help. If a particular country is key to your business hosting a version of your site in the region you would like it to rank is more effective.

Thanks Mike. But, if I include say "New York" in the web-page content, then won't it will help to rank better for the general search results (not local results) for keywords targeted like say "advertising agency New York"?
