How do i get backlinks?

Guys i am trying to improve the SEO from my website.
I know backlinks are important, but i don't know how to get backlinks.
I tried to find broken links on other websites but i didn't find any on the sites i looked.
I did make one link on a forum wich had follow links, but at SEM rush it is not registred as a backlink. I hope someone here can give me some advice. I have the oportunity to get a backlink with a Site authority of 80 but the specific page is only 1 or so. Should i do this?

    Most of the forums provides no-follow backlinks and the least amount that do provide do-follow links gives link juice almost near to zero. So, if you want to build quality links then start guest posting. Some may suggest you to create a PBN for you. Yeah, sure you can create but try not get caught.

    1. Image Back-links,
    2. Social Bookmarking,
    3. PPT & PDF shares,
    4. Video Submissions,
    5. Directory Submission,

    Pretty much all of the replies, so far, are worthless backlinks. If you can place a link easily, yourself, it is almost always worthless. Unfortunately, a huge number of people on this forum don't know that and are repeating the same things they have heard works - things that haven;t worked for quite a few years.
