Do you hire link builders?

I've seen the large marketplace for this on GetAFreelancer and have heard of a few good marketers who hire out link building. Does anyone here have experience hiring link builders? What sort of links do they generate? What are reasonable rates and what factors influence the rates that link builders charge?

I'm thinking of trying this out so I'm basically looking for any general advice/experience people have with link building freelancers.

I've used Submit edge in the past and was very pleased with their services. They also give you proof of their link building by setting up an email account for you to monitor when the links go live. Two thumbs up from me. Very competitively priced as well....

Better to hire individual and independent freelancer than a big seo company in link building. The result would be the same but the payment will have a big difference..

That is exactly what I was thinking too.

Does anyone have any advice for hiring an individual?

I agree with SOLIDSNAKE. Hire individual freelancer than a company.

I also do my own link building because it is just to hard to just give your linking strategies to someone else. If you have no time but have money then hire someone, if not then your better off doing it your self.

I outsource link building. It is very useful when it is time for your business to grow. Be careful with this though because you will spend a lot of money fast when expanding your business. Use outsourcing as though you were hiring workers.

Make sure you create a budget and a plan of action for the link builders work.

I have had mixed results from link building so I tend to do it myself most of the time. If you want to hire someone you need to check that they are building quality links. This means links from sites related to the content of your site and links from sites with a relatively high PR.

To get best results you should define your strategy and do the most important parts yourself, like writing/spinning your own blog text and articles, then posting them to EZA, Squidoo, Blogger, press release sites etc. Then outsource or automate the tedious task of building a multi-tired network of links to your links.

IMO, try doing some first yourself, then if you like the results then hire them

I had got a nice guy via GAF, he had brougt me to TOP #10 on google and had done massive work for reasonable cost. I had about 800,000 competitors to my site. Whe the project begins, I was on 205th place, To bring me to TOP # 10, he charged me only US$475. However, his works take me to TOP#5. That is a bonus

Still he is working for me...

I just fired my Link Builder, make sure you don't get too comfortable with long term builders. My LB did a great job for the first 3 months or so, then I noticed that my link growth came to a screeching halt. It seems that his links would not "stick" for longer than a month or two so they fell out as fast as he built them. And they would look good at the time of payment but not much longer than that.

I did see my rankings increase though, but I had no chance on the higher competition keywords without the links sticking.

        Hey all,

After using many link builders and SEO companies who were pretty much a big dissapointment, Many offering links for very cheap but the quality of the links and results were non existent practically, So me and my business partner started working on things ourself and now after some time we've got a team together and can offer others great quality back links with Provable results.

Both my website and my partners sites have many page one results, If you type in on Google U.S 'Miracle Fruit' you will see one of my businesses Miracle Fruit Hut has a page one ranking and if you type in 'Teddy bears personalized' in the U.S you will see my partners business ranked page one #2. Only within 90 days of using these links and 3000 of them, i got a page one ranking against many sites with far more back links. This service Helps build and Boost SERP's.

If others want to benefit from this our Team offers a service of 1000 Backlinks for $350 for that price you get 250 social sites with logons and 750 FFA links (Pr Ranging from 0-6) to a single URL using 3 keyword phrases of your choice. We will also send you a report of all the links which have been posted too along with their PR. (Please Note all submissions are manually made and not automated or spam) Contact me via miraclefruithut@gmail.com or via pm and i would be happy to bring others on board and start building their websites SERP's.

        Best,

        Marco

I outsource my link building. I have somebody who does directory submissions for my site and my client's site. I have someone who does social bookmarking. I have a full time virtual assistant that do occasional reciprocal link building for me and other administrative works.

First of all, before you hire anyone, you should be aware how easy or difficult a particular job is and how much time you would spend doing it yourself, this way, you can do some bargaining on the rate. You also need to know what and where to find quality links and be able to evaluate one's service upon completion. That way, if you are not completely satisfied with your service provider, you could just find somebody else to do the same job next time. There are many freelance sites that show profile history of their providers as well as how much they got paid for a particular job. You can also see some of the feedbacks/comments written by other outsourcers. This is very helpful to get an initial impression of what kind of service you could be getting from a particular service provider. You could also get a good price if the service provider is new and just starting out to build his portfolio.

For social bookmarking site, I pay 35 cents per link. For directory submission, I pay $4.00 per hour or $8.00 for 100 directory submission, with complete report including the status of the submission.

For the moment, i build backlinks myself. It can be quite tedious at times. Although i plan to outsource it once i start earning more. I think the main issue with outsourcing is you have to be sure of what you want and select the person / company very carefully. Dont want to end up paying for things you are not satisfied with and god knows what other additional complications that come along with it.

If hiring an individual freelancer to do your link building you may run into problems. Here are a few tips I learned when I hiring link builders for my websites:

-Don't hire people who apply with automatic job descriptions.
-Split test 4 candidates at the same time and cull them down to the best one.
-Request a weekly report on their links.
-Check the report thoroughly to ensure the links are being created.
-Check that links are being indexed.

    Cheers,
    Dave

I have done it all myself for my and my clients sites. However, I did try a guy on fiverr last month for a site I have put little to no effort into as a test site. I was ranking 92 for a term. Used his services, and sit at number 45 now for that term, and have done NOTHING else. I will probably experiment with another $5 for the same term and words and see what that does.

We have a full time link builder based in the Philippines that concentrates on .edu, .gov and pr 6+.

We also use an automated link building service.

With this combination, we are dominating pretty well. I kind of makes me want to stop working for someone else and start a company...
