Some of my fellow warriors had told me that their sites have gone down in SERP (via our personal yahoo chatting). They had their links in the signature here in WF. So, they suspect that google removes the value of links from WF. I am not sure about it
What about you all guys?

Note: Even, me too had moved from # 4 to # 10 for one of my site here.
I too suspect, is that the reason.....

I'm not an SEO expert, not by a long shot. However, I'm thinking that's probably not the reason. Otherwise, all I would have to do is link to my competitor's sites in my sig or WF blog and wave goodbye as they sink in the rankings.

    Cheers,
    Becky

The nofollow is a link attribute Google has no control whatsoever on.

They have control on the order on the SERPS but not on the websites.

      Fortunately

Just coincidence, otherwise I too would be linking to my competitors to reduce their ranking.

My rankings are all over the place the last couple of days, no doubt some sort of update.

Guys, Both of you get the wrong side of the broom stick
I am not saying that the WF sig. links are just making the sites to drop down. I am telling that the VALUE of the WF sig. is going down....

I know, WF sig. is the big thing which played a lot in SERP, but nowadays, some of us had noticed that our sites are dropped. That means, we have to go with some extra things than WF

Yeah, disregard that nonsense. If a link on one site could tank your rankings, there'd be link wars going on in virtually every competitive niche. That's the last thing Google would allow into their system. Google dances all the time. You can lose a ranking spot you've held for months when they shake things up. Let it shake out and your site will probably pop back up.

Or... if your site has is new, you could have been experiencing the boost in rankings new content gets at Google. It's called Query Deserves Freshness (QDF) and it's conjectured to be a part of the Google ranking algo. You see new content rank very high, then fall back to its real position within a few days or weeks. That's also normal.

Keep building links and don't fret over temporary ups and downs.
