Questions on how to move my search engine ranking away from the first page.

Yes, I'm asking for the direct opposite of what everyone is trying to achieve. I have a client that has a very negative review about them posted on a somewhat popular blog that keeps appearing on the first page when their name is searched on Google. I'm trying to push that review further away. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

Have they tried talking to the blogger to resolve the complaint? It might be as simple as apologising and offering them a freebie.
