lose rank with link exchange?

Hi,

I've had quite a few blogs mentioning me and my site as of late. I wanted to collect these and put them on my site. The question is, would this look to Google as a link exchange and cause me to lose rank or is this common practice?

    Why would you want to put together a page that links back to all the pages that link to you unless that was a condition of getting the links?

    You certainly would prefer the links to be one-way; otherwise, they do become reciprocal links.

    If you just want to show that you are "popular", tweet about each link - "@backlinkcreatorname Thanks for linking to our article about [#keyword phrase title] - [URL of their page]"

      A link exchange with another site is NOT normally going to get you penalized - especially if that site is relevant to your site and could send some targeted traffic. When none of the sites that you share reciprocal links with are remotely close to what your site is about and if that is a huge portion of your backlink profile, you COULD get a manual penalty, however.

    Not sure on Google but I'd avoid doing this. Just include nice big old featured on or seen at widget on your blog sidebar, linking to nothing but showing off brand images/logos, a'la on my blog.
