Google Sandbox is an idea that for the first 3 - 6 months of a website being created, Google puts it "in the sandbox" which is one way of saying that Google won't rank the website highly for the first 3 - 6 months.

People often dispute the sandbox exists, and some people do have success in ranking a website well in the first 6 months.

From what I've seen, Google will start listing new websites in a few weeks after creation, but traffic grows slowly for the first 3 - 6 months, and then starts to really grow faster after that.

It is an observation period done by google to find out website is fraud or have any technical errors.
Observation period will be 2-3 weeks.

    Hi benthomas642,

The Google Sandbox is a concept used to describe how Trust is used as a factor in ranking web pages.

According to Google, "Trust" is earned over time, therefore a newly indexed page is sometimes said to be in the "Google Sandbox" because it hasn't been published long enough to have earned trust.

    That's all it means.

    HTH,

    Don Burk

The Google sandbox refers to a commonly held belief that Google has a filter that places all new websites under restrictions for a certain amount of time to prevent them from ranking in searches. The idea behind the Google sandbox is that newer websites are not as relevant as older sites, and they are also more likely to be spam. For this reason, they are restricted and allowed to mature before being allowed to rank well, much as a young child is placed to play in a sandbox by his or her caregiver.

  • I think, The Google Sandbox is an alleged filter placed on new websites. The result is that a site does not receive good rankings for its most important keywords and keyword phrases.

Google kept your website in a certain virtual box for short period of time due to over promotion of new site, known as Google Sandbox..

  • The Google Sandbox is an alleged filter placed on new websites. The result is that a site does not receive good rankings for its most important keywords and keyword phrases. Even with good content, abundant incoming links and strong Google PageRank, a site is still adversely affected by the Sandbox effect.

I wouldn't focus too much on sandbox stuff. A lot of people argue it doesn't even exist.
