Please, is it advisable to buy the services of an SEO expert? Or should I just do the little I know about SEO. e.g build backlinks, do blog comments, get social links, make daily content updates... e.t.c

Is buying the service of SEO relevant at all?

I have these two other questions:

1) how do I get genuine backlinks on my own?
2) how can I rank for a particular keyword?

I need a deep knowledge of the two questions I asked above, if i'm to do my SEO by myself.

Thanks!

It really Depends. There are a ton of people that say they know SEO and then they just go and out source it. I would verify his work contact past customers and so on.

If you are going to give it a go on your own check out moz local. Cheap but can help you get started with some good links to your site.

    Best of luck

Do your homework on the expert. Do they know their stuff inside-out? If so, hire them. You can do SEO solo but gotta love it, or else it gets to be a drag. Take it from an SEO averse guy. I let my developer handle all the ins and outs backend-wise and I just use plug ins to handle post-specific SEO.

My advice these days is that if your budget is below $200-$300 a month then you are probably better off doing it yourself.

In that range I'd suggest you get someone for a one time fee to do on page (for many sites you don't need monthly on page ) and then for the heavy lifting of links do content marketing, build a private network or do link outreach by yourself.

Sub $200-$400 providers are in my experience normally not good especially if you want to rank long term.

thanks so much. i am planning and budgeting for $200/month on my SEO outsourcing.

looking to bid on 10 keywords at $20/keyword.

please, how good can this be. i've got plans to bid on more keywords later (up till 50KWs for $100/month) but need to test the waters at the moment first with the 10 KWs bidding. then scale it up if all goes well.

your advise pls? is it possible to achieve a very good ranking for these 10 keywords with the $200 budget.

and will the service of an SEO expert be helpful ? in this regards.

thanks, i'm patiently awaiting your response.

Id suggest just doing it yourself.

Sign up for an SEO spider tool to audit your website, fix all the errors, then start pumping out some top quality content.

Sure, If they're an expert but most experts don't cling to the word expert so If that's what they're focused on advertising, well, odds are they're only and expert in their own mind.

As you mention you know about SEO. e.g build backlinks, do blog comments, get social links, make daily content updates... e.t.c If you think it's okay to fulfill your req then you should have to do it yourself otherwise you have to hire SEO Expert because you can't learn & understand SEO by reading few blogs or doing some technique which you write here. There are number of small but important things which is need to done by experienced SEO Expert.

really thanks for your advice. However, would hiring an SEO expert be helpful for a classified website? where the site users are the ones producing the site content?

I'd say focus on content and out reach then you should get backlinks naturally. If you hire some SEO cowboy and he blasts 1000000 gse blog links at your website you might as well start again.

Well, if you are a DIY person, read up the 'manuals' and implement. If you like done-and-installed-for-you then by all means, hire and SEO expert.
