dofollow v nofollow for linking out

I have been linking out to authoritative websites from my website. Should these be nofollow or dofollow or does it not make any difference. Do I lose link juice by linking out with dofollow?

    No you doesn't loose your link juice. But too many do-follow links may you cause Manual Action Penalty.

    Not like that, Do follow links are a reasons for loosing link juice but if these sites are spammy and not good then Google may penalize your site. In case you have got do follow links then link juices can be passed to your website.

    Nofollow does not prevent anything from leaking out, so from that perspective it does not matter if you use nofollow or not. Result will be the same.

    Google bots don't pay much attention to nofollow dofollow.
    Regarding link juice you can put one authority site with dofollow if you want. Rest should be put with nofollow.

Result will be the same.

          You are wrong on both cases.

          1) Google absolutely pays attention to nofollow. That video is talking about for indexation. This thread is not talking about indexation.

          Some people believe that Google bot does travel through nofollow links. Others don't. Either way, it has nothing to do with this conversation.

          2) That is one of the dumbest things I have read this week. So if you have 4 outbound links on your page you should add nofollow to 3 of them? Why? What is the point of doing something so dumb.

          How about this... if you don't trust the pages you are linking to enough that you feel you need to add a nofollow to the links, you probably just shouldn't link to them period.

          Nofollow is to tell search engines that you do not fully trust the page you are linking to and do not want to pass on any of your pages authority or anchor relevance through the link. It does not conserve link juice on your page though. It still leaks out of the page like any other link, it just does not get passed on to that page being linked to.

          I don't need a source for that. It's how nofollow works. Everyone knows that.

    Nofollow means you don't trust the link....so you are telling google you are full of untrusted links.

    Why people think that linking to authority sites gives some points to google, is just way beyond me. The logic is insane. Not to mention that you are begging people to leave your site.

    Google now splits up PR between all links on a page, nofollow or not.

    Three strikes, you're out.

    We never worry about putting no-follow tags on external links. We do have them open in separate tabs. We also no-follow links to unimportant internal pages and block them via robots.txt (shopping cart/checkout, etc.).

    It's not going to hurt your SEO. Some in the SEO industry think that it MAY help if the places you are linking to are authoritative and helpful to whatever point your page is making (there is, as usual, much debate on this subject because so many people in the SEO world like to think that correlation is the same thing as causation).

    We just don't worry about this kind of nonsense. Like MikeFriedman said, don't link to the page if you need to hide the fact from Google. There are so many other things that affect SEO that DO matter. Worry about them and not this kind of ridiculous minutia.

    Google's John Mueller says external links do not help (or hurt) your SEO, so it depends on whether you want to trust the word of Google or not.
