Would google give importance to the backlinks from a single domain name as equally to a handful of backlinks (with the same # of backlinks) from other domain names?

Site 1 has a PR of 5, then you build 1000 backlinks from this single domain only to your site.

VS.

5 sites with a PR 1 each, then you build 200 backlinks from each site to your homepage.

Which process would Google give much importance in terms of counting the backlinks for PageRank purposes?

Google much prefers links from multiple domains (as long as they have multiple IPs)

The more diverse your spread of ip address of incoming links is, the better your website will do.

Imagine if the search engines cam across your site and found that all of the incoming links to it, come from 1 domain name. What conclusion do you think they would jump to?

So the more diverse you ip range is, the more natural it looks and the better your website will do in the SERPs

      Hope this helps
