I love social media marketing, but my seo sucks. What are some tips to get ranked? Is anyone able to diagnose my site:

www.geekgirlfi.com

I know it probably needs more text content, any other suggestions?

Try adding more back-links. There are different ways to it but I think legit forums where you extend support (like WarriorForum), gets you noticed on the net

google loves website with great content. If you wanna rank your website first make keywoord and content research. This is the exact process to rank page for any keyword.

1.Use keyword research tools (semrush, long tail pro, nichereaper . . . . ) to make deep keyword research

2.Check the your competition content which is actually ranking for keyword you choosen.

3.Make better content, make it visual, make video, high quality images.

    4.Make your website fast

    5.Build high quality links

I would suggest do add up some additional fresh content or do changes in existing content and do add up alt tags, title tag, and again start you social media activities in a proper way.

Google will love your site if you follow the rules of Google.
Google doesn't care who you are, it just cares what are you doing. If you don't know, it is your problem.
SEO is really important. Social media marketing is also a good SEO technique but there are other SEO techniques you have to follow.
You have many internal SEO issues that you must fix all the issues, it is a ranking factor.
If you select perfect keywords and write quality and SEO optimized article. Google will love you.

So - only 1-2 people LOOKED at the site before making suggestions? Seems that way.

The site navigation is horrible - I have no idea what the site is supposed to do. Is it a hobby site to show your craft items? (If so, do you risk legal problems with the "fakes"? Just creating to show shouldn't be a problem - selling them might well be).Do you plan to sell from the site? The design is old fashioned - there are pages with no content.

I doubt google hates your site - but I do think google is discounting it. Before you worry too much about "SEO" - work on the site so it flows.

I'm not really sure how to make the navigation better, people looking for gaming crafts will find what they want to see easily. If you have a suggested solution, I am all ears.

Are you able to provide a solution to a not old fashioned design? I'm probably pretty bad at that, so it would be helpful if you had ideas.

Yes, it's so funny, I can't function properly for laughing. That's why I asked for advice, smart arse. because I'm clearly not very good at it.

Yep, that's got to go. Need to think about things like that. It's probably foolish to expect a site to rank if there are parts missing. Thanks for the helpful suggestions some of you.

Do you think it's probably a good idea to scrap it and start over? I sort of see what you mean about the link structure being weird. I just don't want to do it wrong the second time.

There are many ways to increase page rank. Such as when you make Back link, you can do more & more Do-follow link than the No-follow link. The Do-follow link will increase page rank & traffic while the No-follow link will increase site traffic only. You need to do SEO. You can use social media site also, Forum posting, Article submission, relevant Blog commenting & so on. No plagiarism, Original & Valuable content only. Thanks for your understanding.

That is the worst advice in this entire thread. She makes crafts. She's not a columnist.

It might help to visit similar sites (similar in topic, that is) and see how they are set up. Could help you get some idea of setup and navigation. Work through the sites as a visitor would and compare them to your own site to find improvements you can make.

    Video Games – Geek Crafts

No affiliate links - not suggesting you copy anything from those sites but just study how the links to "buy now" etc are done - how the sites are organized and categorized, etc.

Kicking myself for not thinking of that already. Will definitely do so and re-structure the nav! I guess it does need a sweep over and some re-naming of things. Thanks for the advice.I can think of a lot of improvements to kick on with.

    Hey,

Only social media marketing will not help you to rank your website keywords. Rather you should try for off page link building, networking as well as Search Engine Marketing.

    Thank you!
