What to do about old website pages showing in Google search results?

I've recently revamped and relaunched my website using a different host. My old site never got much traffic (my fault- I didn't promote it) but when I do a site search on Google, the old pages still show in the results, but when clicked go to a 404 page since that host doesn't host my site anymore. Will these old pages eventually be deindexed or do I need to take some action for Google to stop showing them? How long does Google generally take to make these updates?
