Plumber website SEO tips.

Hi Warrior Forum Team,

I am working on a website for a local plumber on GoDaddy. Was wondering what my best route is in terms of paid digital advertising? AdWords?

    Well this would be SEM not SEO, but definitely AdWords first. It's certainly not as cheap as it once was, however, once your campaign is set up correctly and managed closely it can bring immediate ROI.

    The majority of searches with direct purchase still go to ads, and you can essentially immediately hop to the top of the local search results. I have a good in-house case study of a plumber in a highly competitive market.

    One word of caution; If you haven't used AdWords before, take the time to learn what you need to do and start off with a lower budget. If not you can rack up a huge bill in a flash through loose targeting.

    For paid local advertising I would go with Bing as well. They will have a lower CPC and give just as high quality traffic in my opinion.

    If you are in a market where Google has rolled out their new local search ads, you definitely want to get into those. Otherwise just regular AdWords.

    I would get the hell away from GoDaddy hosting. They are one of the worst hosts on the planets. Fine as a registrar. Terrible as a host.

      You guys a serious answer to a guy who has clients. Yeah. He has CLIENTS.

      I charge $50 an hour because it takes me an hour to find the answer on the WF, and a fool and his money are soon parted.

      Bing?!?!?!?! You people CANNOT be serious.

    Adwords is good but it is really high cost. Try to go different system Like Bing, Facebook or Other local directory advertising option.

      That is just stupid. Nobody is looking for a plumber on Facebook. When someone needs a plumber, they go to Google.

      Bing might get a few, but their traffic is drastically smaller than Google.

      AdWords is not really high cost unless you do not convert any of the traffic.

    bing is defo cheaper than adwords, and not as fussy either.....But you can definitely drive more traffic with adwords.

    Its not a set and forget thing though, you will need to be on board for the long run or the ads will become either really expensive or absolutely useless!

    Hey Andrew,

    I would definitely go with adwords first like other members of the community have mentioned.

    Also, you mentioned that you are using GoDaddy hosting. I'm not sure if this is a new hosting account that you are talking about but if it is...you might want to check on coupon codes that came with the account.

    All new hosting usually get's $100-125 spend in adwords and $100 in bing PPC.

    This is worth checking out for sure =).

    Also, bing is a good long-term play as the clicks are always cheaper and you can really find some gold there.

    Not nearly as much traffic but you're getting it a better price.

    GoDaddy is nasty man. What's wrong with a little ec2 instance or even a free Google VPS?? For local low competition searches like that a small pbn would do you well.
