I want to create a 2nd website to catch more search traffic.

My main site is clear of grey/back tactics, but I am thinking to set up a 2nd domain as follows..

1. Buy another domain also in my name
2. I have 4000 pages on main website. This site may have 500 pages and be focused on money landing pages.
3. My main site is i.e. 'Flats to rent'. This would be 'Short term flats to rent' .
4. 400 pages would be about same properties as per others site, but with re-written description.
5. Links, I would go after directory and paid guest submissions as well as other listing type of sites to mix it up.

Bottom line, if this site is on same server as my other one and also same domain owner, does anyone see a problem with this?

    Nope. Not a problem.

The only time people want to put sites on different servers and hide the ownership is when they are trying to hide something. It doesn't look like you have anything to hide, so not a problem.

I would consider using whois privacy on both domains though. Not for any SEO reason, but I get a ton of mail, phone calls, and email from the domains I own without privacy on them. It's annoying.

If you have a server with multiple website hosting capability and you don't want to hide your ownership then you are ready to go.
