Should I upload content from old site (been offline for two years) to new domain, or existing site?

I had a site in a niche that has been offline for a couple of years. I gave up on the site because I couldn't commit to it. I have a backup of the content.
I am wondering whether I should put the content on a new domain in the same niche or put it on an existing but multi-topic site? The multi-topic site has been online for a few years now, gets good amount of search traffic, so some of the SEO stuff is already incorporated.
Should I take advantage of that, knowing the content will fit into the multi-themed site (owing to its multi-category structure), and possibly benefit quickly from search traffic, or should I start a new domain in the same niche as the old site?
