If I buy an expired domain that has huge backlinks and 301 redirect this expired domain to my new domain, is there any problem?

Will this really help me to rank better in Google?

Please, anybody, tell me something about this.
Thanks

It can be done yes, link juice passed is about 90% thereabouts , remember pagerank no longer carries. If you execute the 301 properly and the links on the expired domain are decent quality you should get some return on investment serps wise.

My own personal experience is it doesn't work like it use to years ago, where you bought a high page rank domain 301'ed it and got results quickly, everything now is about deep and ongoing seo-

i haven't done this for around 18 months so i may be slightly outdated as to how they perform currently

Its both good and bad. I would not suggest to do this with a long term website. Besides if the expired domain has a lot of links best is to check them properly if they have worthy anchors or not.

Yes it will help, I saw a Google webmaster video that said about 0.85 of the juice flows through a 301. I think if you add webmaster tools to the domain you can tell Google it's like a rebrand sort of

You cannot 301 the "domain," unless you make the domain live and pay hosting fees. You might end up losing money.

There's nothing really bad about it.

However, it might be a complete waste of time if the domain has links that have been deleted and nobody's looking for it.

I have no idea why people think that this is some magical pill.

It's a useless endeavor most of the time. It just sounds good.

It's like asking if writing your domain on a piece of paper and putting it under your pillow is good or bad.

Why not do real work on your present domain? What a concept!

If you have more time than money, its good to buy a domain that has a verified and good link profile that will match your current link profile without spamming it to death.

it's a good strategy when you can find a good domain.
