What impact industry related link building SEO on my website

Hi, i want to know my website is education related industry and I am building links to business, sports, related industry. So I have confusion that website is really get traffic and keyword rank. Am I doing right for website.

    A backlink is a backlink doesnot matter if its from your niche or not. Besides if you will get links from websites within your niche then it will have more impact.

      Yes it is better way to get back links from website. But some websites are not allow to make allow comment. Like blog comment I submit but they are not allowed it.

    You don't need related links. Big myth. Good links are good links. If one relied on "related" links, one would have very few linking possibilities.

    But something is lost in translation. You say YOU are building links TO other websites.

    I am building links to business, sports, related industry.
    Speaking of related links...look at the sig links here. They say they want related links, and yet, they can't help but put a link here. And lots of em.

    I am not getting traffic and not improving Alexa position. Current website Alexa position is +1.3 lac but my competitors has under 1 lac Alexa rank.
